Ms Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE, Musician. For services to Music
Chi-chi Nwanoku was spotted at the age of eight and was trained to be a 100 metre sprinter. Suffering a knee injury at the age 18, she developed her musical ability taking up the double bass. She is now an internationally renowned double bassist, co-founding the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Professor of Double Bass Historical Studies at the Royal Academy of Music, where she has also been a Fellow since 1998. She received her OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2017.
